This volume records the issue and return of various items of equipment such as hand tools, shovels, rakes, buckets, saws, mattocks and axes loaned to the men, generally on a short term basis. Most items were returned on the same day or on the day following their issue, though some involve longer term loans.For each article the register records date issued, the name of the ganger or area issued to, the date returned and the signature of the person taking the item.
