Instream barriers in the Murray- Darling Basin

This dataset was produced for the Murray Darling Basin Authority to update the Weir Information System dataset. Each point in the dataset represents a structure in the network. The approximate location of each point aligns with GeoFabric v3 Surface Network. \nIt includes some attributes, such as, crest height, fishway availability, weir pool length (when available). For the main barriers on the main streams these values have been updated through literature, data reviews and web searches (where available). \n\nThis datasets is aligned to GeoFabric v3 and and it is provided as a '.csv' file with lat/long in ESPG 4326.\nNew information to complete updating these attribute is welcome.\nLineage: We intersected the barriers in the Murray-Darling Basin Weir Information System to the streams from the GeoFabric v3 Surface Network. We then located each of the barriers using satellite imagery and recorded the coordinates where a structure overlapped the satellite image. Finally, we updated the crest height and fishway availability for a subset of barriers located on the main streams (Main barriers on main streams in the MDB dataset) through web-searches, literature and data reviews.\nThe complete list of datasets and references used to review the attributes is included.
