DP Waimakariri Flood Plain (OpenData)

This entity describes the area of land south of the Waimakariri River, between the primary and secondary stopbanks where the potential for flooding exists. The stopbank network has been designed to largely contain the floodwaters to this plain. This District Plan feature is the repository for only those areas where the natural hazard presented by floodwaters is highest. The raw data was modelled and supplied by Ecan. Do not maintain this feature class in-house other than if Ecan resupply, in which case the high hazard areas may require clipping to the stopbank boundary.
