Data from a Geophysical Survey at Mercia Park Phase 2, Appleby Magna, Leicestershire, August 2023

This collection comprises magnetometer data and georeferenced raster plots of processed magnetometer data from a geophysical survey on approximately 28ha of land to the north-west of Appleby Magna, Leicestershire. Work was undertaken by Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA) between 18th and 25th August 2023. The survey identified a fragmentary set of ditches which may be elements of an enclosure complex of uncertain date and some other linear features which could be ditches but are more likely to be geological fissures. Apart from these, the survey identified one, or perhaps two, suspected kilns, a possible pond or quarry pit, and a spread of debris from a former building that appears on 19th-century mapping
