资源简介:
This data set comprises individual time-series for ice crystals grown by vapor diffusion in laboratory growth chambers along with output from models of lateral growth. Theories for the growth of crystals from the vapor phase generally focus on the normal growth of facets, namely that facets grow outward in the normal direction to the propagation of steps on their surface. Theories of normal growth are well developed and are used to understand the development of the primary habits of ice. However, facets can also spread laterally across a crystal surface and this growth mode has received less attention. Data and model output are provided on the lateral spreading of crystal facets that form on frozen supercooled droplets and those that form on previously sublimated crystals. Calculations of the crystal growth velocities, mass growth rates, and deposition coefficients are also provided.
