Climate Physical Risk Index (CPRI) dataset includes comprehensive climate physical risk assessment data for 170 countries, 31 Chinese provinces, and 229 Chinese cities from 1993 to 2023. The index contains four dimensions including the standardized average annual extreme low temperature days (LTD), extreme high temperature days (HTD), extreme rainfall days (ERD) and extreme drought days (EDD) of all stations in a certain region (country/province/city). The standards for extreme values of LTD, HTD, ERD, EDD are 10% quantile and 90% quantile of daily average temperature, 95% quantile of daily rainfall, and 5% quantile of daily humidity between January 1, 1973 and December 31, 1992, respectively. CPRI is the arithmetic mean of these four sub-indices. The original daily data of meteorological stations is sourced from NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration).
