Replication data for: Essays on Causality, Race, and the Law

These data include personal, professional, and educational characteristics of United States District Court Judges commissioned between 1960 and early 2012. These were used in the dissertation, Essays on Causality, Race, and the Law. Raw data can be downloaded from the Federal Judicial Center (http://www.fjc.gov). I have included in these data the judges' Songer code, which can also be used to merge these data with the NSF data base of appeals court cases collected and coded by Songer, Kuersten, and Haire (http://www.cas.sc.edu/poli/juri/databases.htm).
