This dataset deposits the supplemental materials for the manuscript "The synchronization of convective lifecycles in an idealized microscopic model".

movie_OLR.avi is the movie version of Fig. 1, which shows the outgoing longwave radiation (OLR) in W/m^2.

movie_theta_e_coarse_grained.mp4 The left panel shows the horizontal anomaly of equivalent potential temperature, vertically averaged in the boundary layer (the lowest ten mesh layers, z<=1.43 km). The right panel shows the field coarse-grained to 20 km x 20 km cells. 

CM1_postprocessing_code.zip The postproessing code of the CM1 simulation. The algorithm for calculating the synchronization index is in plot_micro.m.

microscopic_model.zip The MATLAB code for the microscopic model. 

math_note.pdf The hand-written math derivation note for equations in the appendices.
