Soil moisture is an important part of soil, and is the most basic index to understand and study the relationship between plant and soil moisture. It plays a very important role in plant growth, water-saving irrigation and so on. Compared with short-term experiment, long-term observation is a multi-year continuous observation of natural conditions or long-term experimental processing process, reflecting the long-term impact of environmental evolution or human activities. High-quality long-term field monitoring data is particularly valuable. Established in 1995, the long-term positioning experiment of different utilization modes of red soil slope land in Taoyuan Agro-ecology Research Station provided a good condition for long-term observation of the dynamic changes of soil moisture on slopes in red soil hilly areas. This dataset was derived from the five management modes of slopes (farming ecosystem, restoration ecosystem, degraded ecosystem, tea garden ecosystem, citrus orchard system) in different depths (10cm, 20cm, 30cm, 40cm, 50cm, 70cm)by neutron probe method. In order to make better use of these data, this data set adopts CERN unified standard data processing method and quality control system, collates the monthly average data of soil moisture content of five sloping land management modes, and provides sharing service on line.
