资源简介:
During BOW-TIE (ORCESTRA) a scanning motion-stabilized wind lidar on the RV Meteor performed various scanning routines to look at profiles and cross sections of the horizontal wind components. This dataset presents the horizontal wind profiles over the lowest 1-2 kilometer of the atmosphere retrieved from the Doppler Beam Swinging (DBS) scanning mode. Each DBS sweep involves pointing the lidar beam at four azimuth angles (0,90,180,270 degrees) around a scanning circle at an elevation angle of 80 degrees followed by one vertically pointing beam. The DBS method assumes that the instantaneous velocity field is homogeneous across the scanning circle. During the final part of the cruise, as indicated by a flag, the stabilization platform was disabled. Motion stabilization is not critical for DBS wind profiles when averaged over longer time windows (10 min or longer); however, scrutiny is advised.
