Ross Ice Shelf project: HWD2 ocean profiles

This event aims to gather data about and model key processes and process interactions that govern the rate at which the RIS responds to global warming. To do this, we collected oceanogaphic data (CTD, moorings, cameras etc) to observe modern processes, sediment coring to reconstruct the retreat history of the RIS, glaciological and ice physics (radar, borehole thermistors etc), mass balance (AWS and sea bed heat flow. A key achievement were two bore holes; HWD2a for ocean mooring and seisometer installation and HWD2b for the seismic sparker. This dataset refers to ocean profiles (water column structure) collected from the borehole at HWD2.
