Metabolomics results from the gut-brain axis in Shank3 KO mice and Sapap3 KO mice

The integration of gut microbiota and multi-tissue metabolomics offers a robust perspective for interpreting the systemic complexity of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This study employed two gene-knockout mouse models, Shank3 KO and Sapap3 KO, and conducted metabolomic analyses of intestinal contents, serum, and cerebral cortex to characterize the metabolic signature alterations.
