United States Antarctic Program cruises LMG04-04, LMG05-02, and NBP06-03 conducted bottom sampling operations in the Northwest Weddell Sea and in the Larsen-A and Larsen-B embayments, regions formerly occupied by the Larsen Ice Shelf. The physical products of these cruises include the following items that are curated at the Antarctic Marine Geology Research Facility at Florida State University:
- Kasten core archive trays for 1-3 meter long cores collected during LMG04-04, LMG05-02, and NBP06-03
- Working and archive halves of jumbo piston cores collected from the LIS-B embayment and the Vega Drift (north of Vega Island) during LMG05-02.
- Archive cores (roughly 10-15 cm long) of Smith-MacIntyre surface grab samples
- X-radiographs of all archive trays and cores listed above. These exist in both film and digital form, and are entered to AMGRF’s database
- Material dredged from Jun Jaegyu Seamount, Antarctic Sound, during LMG04-04.
