Histoires Morales is a French dataset derived from the English corpus [Moral Stories](https://huggingface.co/datasets/demelin/moral_stories) through multi-step translation and consists of short narratives describing moral and deviant behaviors in social situations centered around personal relationships, education, commerce, domestic affairs, and meals. Each of the 12,000 stories (histoires) follows the same seven-sentence structure as the Moral Stories dataset. The dataset supports tasks such as text classification, text generation, and multiple-choice questions, and can be used to evaluate models understanding, generation, and classification of moral behaviors, as well as their alignment with human moral judgments. The dataset is licensed under MIT and is available for French environments.
