资源简介:
This is the supporting information of a sandbox modeling study focusing on fault processes in orogenic wedge frontal areas, like the Longmen Shan front where the 2008 Wenchuan earthqauke and 2013 Lushan earthquake occurred. It contains four parts, including: Fig. S1: The critically tapered angle of our modeling materials, determined by the reference experiment. (Page 2-3) Fig. S2: Summary of the 27 sandbox experiments involving inherited fault zones. Both top and lateral view of selected photos are provided. (Page 4-18) Fig. S3: Mohr diagrams helping to constrain the frictional strength of the investigated IFs. They come together and form Fig. 14a. (Page 19) Fig. S4: Fault reactivation diagram adopted in Fig. 14b, according to Sibson (1985) and Sibson and Xie, (1998). (Page 20-21) Generated by sandbox modeling and mechanics analysis, these data are helpful to understand why and how fault segmentation shows up during both long-term and short-term seismic deformation of orogenic wedge front.
