ver7 reference genome assembly of Spodoptera frugiperda

This is a reference genome assembly and gene annotation of Spodoptera frugiperda, which was produced from corn strain. The original paper can be found at 10.1186/s12862-022-02090-x. The name of this assembly is ver7, or simply v7. Kiwoong Nam, a researcher at INRAE, generated this assembly using PacBio and HiC data. This genome assembly was made from PacBio reads, which was corrected by Illumina reads. The assembly was SMARTdenovo. Subsequently, scaffolding was performed using HiC with 3D DNA. Gap filling was performed using SOAP-denovo2 Gap-Closer and LR_GapCloser v1.1. The gene annotation was performed using maker against the ver6.0 genome assembly.
