The effect of anti-CCR8 antibody has been investigated in the bleomycin-induced scleroderma mouse model, which mimics key features of systemic sclerosis, including dermal fibrosis and immune cell infiltration. CCR8 is a chemokine receptor predominantly expressed on regulatory T cells (Tregs). In this model, administration of an anti-CCR8 monoclonal antibody selectively depletes CCR8+ Tregs from inflamed skin, leading to attenuation of dermal fibrosis.
