The hypoxic stress experiment was carried out using the previously described technique by bubbling nitrogen gas into the tanks once the fish's condition had normalized. The DO was kept in the hypoxic group and in the control group. The DO was measured using a DO meter (YSI, Canada). Following 12 hours, 3 days, 9 days, and 15 days of prolonged hypoxic stress, nine fish (n=9) were chosen at random from each tank's experimental and control groups and given MS-222 (0.1g/L) to induce anesthesia. Intestinal tissue was collected, and three individual tissues were combined into a single sample.
