Dataset for Agricultural production diversity and market participation can absorb the impact of shocks on household food security

This dataset contains the derived variables used in the analysis of household food security, agricultural production diversity, market participation, and exposure to shocks. The variables were extracted and constructed from the Household Income and Expenditure Survey (HIES 2022), conducted by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS). Due to licensing restrictions, the full HIES 2022 microdata cannot be shared publicly. Instead, this dataset provides the processed variables that were directly employed in the statistical analyses reported in the associated manuscript. These include measures of household food (in)security, agricultural production diversity indices, market participation indicators, and shock classifications (covariate, idiosyncratic, and joint). Researchers wishing to replicate or extend the study can use this dataset. Access to the original HIES 2022 dataset requires purchase or authorization from BBS.
