EXPLORATORY OBSERVATIONS OF LUMINOUS ULTRASOFT comma NARROW-LINE QUASARS

Ultrasoft, narrowline Seyfert 1s represent one extreme of activity in ActiveGalactic Nuclei (AGN). However, their highluminosity counterparts, theultrasoft/narrowline quasars, have received little attention, largely due to apaucity of targets. Here we propose to rectify this situation with XMMobservations of six luminous, narrowline quasars at zvirgul0.5. We will determinethe shape of the Xray continuum and compare this to both the lowerluminosityultrasoft objects and normal.. quasars of comparable luminosity.
