资源简介:
To capture suspended sediment transport dynamics in the Yukon River basin, we measured suspended sediment concentrations as well as suspended and bed grain size distributions. We collected samples at three locations in the Yukon River Basin: Alakanuk, Alaska (AK) (62.685 North [N], 164.644 West [W]), Beaver, Alaska (66.362 N, 147.398 W), and Huslia, Alaska (65.700 N, 156.387 W). Near Huslia, samples were collected in 2018, 2022, and 2023. Near Beaver, AK, samples were collected in 2022 and 2023. Near Alakanuk, samples were collected in 2023. Spring sampling typically occurred days to weeks after river ice break-up. Fall sampling typically occurred weeks prior to river freeze-up. Suspended sediment was collected using a Van Dorn sampler and bed sediment was collected using a Ponar 'grab' sampler. Samples were carefully retrieved and dried for concentration determination. Then, samples were pre-treated prior to grain size analysis, following previously described protocols. Reported data include sediment grain size statistics, total sediment concentrations, sample depths, and heights above the riverbed.
