NRS-18753 | Registers of Conditional Leases in the Land District of Hillston [Hay Local Land Board]

These registers contain a summary record of all Conditional Leases applied for in the Land District of Hillston, kept by the Hay Local Land Board.An application for a Conditional Lease would be submitted to the Crown Land Agent, together with a deposit. Upon receipt of such an application, the Agent would forward the information to their Local Land Board, where the details of the application would be entered into these registers. The entry would be given the same register number as that appointed by the Crown Land Agent.Prior to the introduction of this series, the Local Land Board kept two series of registers for Conditional Lease information - one to record applications for leases, and one to record approved leases. The new series of registers were designed to amalgamate the two series, thereby creating greater efficiency in the Land Office.These registers record information such as the names and addresses of the applicant or transferee, the date of application or transfer, a description of the land applied for, the deposit and survey fee required, the portion number, the date of notice in the Gazette, the rent amount required, and whether application confirmed or disallowed.
