(2) Precise Market Strategy Formulation: Enterprises can design various promotional activities based on price elasticity. For products with elastic demand, discount promotions can be adopted to boost sales; for products with inelastic demand, value-added services can be provided to enhance product added value. (3) Competitive Strategy: Understanding the price elasticity of competitors' products enables enterprises to adopt more targeted tactics in market competition. If a competitor's product has elastic demand, the enterprise can attract customers via price cuts; if the competitor's product is inelastic, the enterprise can win market share by improving product quality and services. (4) Cost Control: Enterprises can better forecast revenue changes under different pricing strategies, thereby controlling costs more effectively and optimizing resource allocation. (5) Risk Management: Help enterprises evaluate the impact of price fluctuations on business operations to better manage risks. The calculation formulas are as follows: Sales volume change = |(Previous period sales volume - Same period sales volume) / Previous period sales volume| Average unit price change = |(Previous period average unit price - Same period average unit price) / Previous period average unit price| Price Elasticity of Demand (PED) = Sales volume change / Average unit price change The demand for commodities can be categorized into different elasticity tiers based on the absolute value of PED: (1) Perfectly Inelastic Demand: |PED| = 0. Regardless of price changes, demand remains unchanged, and enterprises can raise prices without risking sales decline. (2) Inelastic Demand: 0 < |PED| < 1. Raising prices may increase total revenue as the change in demand is relatively small; enterprises can consider appropriate price hikes to boost profits. (3) Unit Elastic Demand: |PED| = 1. The percentage change in price is consistent with the percentage change in demand, and total revenue will not alter with price changes.
