Abandoned copper mine Parys Mountain (Mynydd Parys, Wales, UK) represents a range of sites characterised by discrete environmental microniches with distinct physico-chemical conditions that shape the composition of microbial communities. To assess the microbial community constituents of the acidic mine adit site with predominant filamentous growth and compare those with another Parys Mt environment previously studied by similar methods, chemical analysis and taxonomic profiling of sediment and streamer using 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing was conducted
