The medicinal fungi 'chaga' also known as Inonotus obliquus is know to produce bioactive molecules including the triterpenoids betulin and betulinic acid. We used Inonotus obliquus cell culture to investigate the expression of genes involved in the metabolism and regulation of these triterpenoids. Inonotus obliquus cell culture were grown in liquid media supplemented or not with botulin or betulic acid or its native host white birch bark. Illumina sequencing was perform on mRNA extracted from three biological replicate for each treatment.
