Infectious diseases are a major cause of morbidity and mortality in Kenya. There is limited information about Klebsiella, Staphylococcus aureus and E. coli in hospital and community settings, or in animal populations, in low- and middle- income countries, such as Kenya. The aim of the study is to investigate the epidemiology of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and healthcare-associated pathogens in human and animal populations in Kenya, using genomic methods.
