The Clinical Value of Alpha-diversity metrics to establish Dysbiosis in Human Microbiome Studies

Selecting appropriate alpha diversity metrics is essential for capturing the biological and clinical relevance of gut microbiome studies. However, no consensus or clear rationale currently guides this choice. The aim of the study is to benchmark the performance of these metrics against a healthy gut microbiome. We provide a dataset generated at Hospital Clinic de Barcelona (HCB), which includes samples from patients with Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI), receptors of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT), and stool donors from the stool bank in HCB.
