Abstract --------------------------- General: 1) To know the food and nutritional situation of children, adolescents, women of childbearing age, mothers of children up to 6 months and older adults who reside in the City of Buenos Aires. 2) To complement and strengthen the permanent monitoring system of food and nutritional indicators carried out by the Ministry of Social Development under the framework of Law 105 of the Legislature of the City of Buenos Aires. 3) To obtain information about the use of health services and the coverage of GCBA programs. Specific: 1) To characterize the population according to socioeconomic and demographic variables. 2) To stratify the population according to established criteria to analyze living conditions. 3) To identify the socioeconomic, demographic, nutritional, health and lifestyle factors that influence the food and nutritional situation of the target population. 4) To describe behaviors, habits and cultural factors that affect the acquisition, preparation and consumption of food at home. 5) To know the nutritional status of the population groups under study through anthropometric indicators. 6) To estimate the adequacy of the intake of macronutrients and micronutrients to the international nutritional recommendations in each of the groups studied. 7) To estimate the prevalence of risk factors for non-communicable chronic diseases. 8) To explore the different sources of information about topics related to health and nutrition used by each group studied. 9) To estimate compliance with the health controls and practices established in each age group. 10) To obtain information about the use and access of the population to the programs implemented by the GCBA. Geographic coverage --------------------------- Sub-national coverage, only urban areas. Analysis unit --------------------------- Individuals Kind of data --------------------------- Sample survey data [ssd] Sampling procedure --------------------------- The City of Buenos Aires has breakdowns by different territorial divisions (Communes, School Districts, Electoral Circumscriptions, etc.). In order to describe and compare the information within it, the survey was based on the decentralization of the City through Communes (Law No. 1,777) as these are political and administrative management units with territorial jurisdiction. The sample design was probabilistic, with representation by conglomerates of Communes. The allocation of sample sizes was carried out in each Commune in proportion to the number of people in the population of each age group of interest that inhabited it. Within each age group, the sample was selected through a systematic design, previously ordered by Commune - Year of birth - Month of Birth. For the preparation of the sampling frame of the age groups older than 5 years, they were selected dwellings from the samples of the "Annual Household Survey" 2 of the last 3 years (2008, 2009 and 2010) and of the "Survey of victimization, perception of safety and performance evaluation of the City's police forces of Buenos Aires "(2009) 3. In the case of the three groups comprised of children under 5 years of age, the "Live Births Statistical Reports" 4 of those born after 2006 were used as a framework. Each sample was complemented with a selection of homes in Tenants and Villas. Previously, the figure of the sensitizer was used to corroborate the existence in the home of individuals with the necessary characteristics in each domain under study and thus "refine" the sampling frame. In Communes 1, 2, 6, 10, 12, 13 and 14, when the selected dwelling corresponded to an apartment, the sensitizer found out (whether or not the respondent was found) if there were other sampling units in the building corresponding to the domains under study. This was done with the objective of being able to have a reserve in case the sample in these communes did not reach the size of effective surveys determined a priori. Mode of data collection --------------------------- Face-to-face paper [f2f]
