Abundance estimates and lengths of Phyllosoma larvae collected in the northern Gulf of Mexico, cruise PTS01, October-November 2015

Depth-discrete plankton samples were collected during a cruise in the northern Gulf of Mexico (October-November 2015) using a Bedford Institute of Oceanography Net Environmental Sampling System (BIONESS). The BIONESS (0.25 m2 opening) was fitted with 333-µm and 202-µm mesh nets; phyllosoma counts included here were only from the 333-µm mesh nets. Plankton samples were collected along three sampling corridors as part the CONCORDE project, and were used to confirm Phyllosoma identifications from ISIIS image analyses.
