PET recycling capacity in Europe 2022, by country

Germany accounted for the largest share of Europe's polyethylene terephthalate (PET) recycling capacity in 2022, at 21 percent of washing capacity, and 19 percent of extrusion capacity. Spain and France followed for washing and extrusion capacity, respectively, each with a share of more than 15 percent. In 2022, the PET washing capacity for flakes in Europe stood at three million metric tons.
