The present invention relates to a composite panel which contains or consists of at least one bio-based particulate or rod-shaped natural material (excluding wood)， at least one thermosetting resin as a binding agent and at least one inorganic flame retardant. The present invention also relates to a method for producing a corresponding composite panel. The present invention also specifies possible uses of the composite panel according to the invention.
