Chlorophyll a and macronutrient concentrations during the icebreaker Shirase cruise of the 65th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition

This dataset contains various sensor data mounted the CTD (conductivity, temperature and depth) and the underway monitoring system, chlorophyll (Chl) a and macronutrient (nitrate, nitrite, phosphate and silicic acid) concentrations during the Icebreaker Shirase cruise in the 2023/24 season as part of he monitoring program of the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE). Water samples were collected from the underway seawater supply twice a day and at multiple depths from select CTD rosette deployments at 6 stations along 110 degree east in December and March. Chl. a and macronutrients (nitrate, nitrite, phosphate and silicic acid) concentrations were quality controled. PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) was also measured continuously by a sensor mounted on the bridge of the ship.
