Launched by institutions including the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, the initiative has recruited thousands of participants including patients, at-risk individuals, and healthy controls across nearly 50 clinical centers worldwide since its launch in 2010. Its open-access dataset contains multimodal information such as clinical assessments, imaging data and biological samples, and is primarily used to accelerate research on Parkinson's disease diagnosis, progression monitoring and therapeutic development.
