资源简介:
This dataset contains information on mental health in medical students in Mexico during 2024. It includes variables related to state and trait anxiety, assessed using the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, as well as depressive symptoms measured with the Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale.
The study follows an observational, cross-sectional design and includes medical students from a higher education institution. Sociodemographic variables such as age, biological sex, gender identity, and academic year were collected, along with total and categorized scores from psychometric instruments.
Data were anonymized, cleaned, and structured in tabular format to support statistical analysis and reuse in research on medical education and mental health. The dataset was developed under open data principles, promoting reproducibility and secondary analysis.
Anxiety was measured using the STAI/IDARE, which evaluates state anxiety (transient condition) and trait anxiety (stable tendency), with 20 items per subscale. Depression was assessed using the Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale (20 items). Scores were calculated according to instrument guidelines and categorized into standardized levels.
Ethically, data were collected with informed consent and institutional approval. The dataset does not contain identifiable personal information and adheres to confidentiality and responsible data use principles.
