MsyB has a role in adaptive mutation via its interaction with nucleoid-associated proteins HU and Beta-clamp. Escherichia coli str. K-12 substr. MG1655

E. coli MsyB contains a N-terminal DNA mimic domain that binds to HU and a C-terminal intrinsically disordered domain that interacts with the Beta-clamp. It plays an important role in adaptive mutation by bridging the two proteins that shown to have key roles in the adaptive mutation.
