We conducted a field investigation of grown peanut with soil-borne disease of different severities. Then, we investigated the soil microbiome and soil physicochemical properties. After that, we incubated bacterial communities from soil suspensions with model pathogen on culture medium and in the rhizosphere of potted peanut. Moreover, we employed shotgun metagenomic sequencing and untargeted metabolomics to explore microbial function. We aimed to (i) determine the composition and functional profile of the soil microbiome under soil acidification, (ii) clarify the associated soil biological process in inducing soil-borne disease occurrence, and (iii) explore the potential mechanism of soil microbiome involving in protecting plant against soil-borne disease.
