VPRS 14226 Statistics

This series consists of summary statistical returns giving information relating to schools under the control of both the Denominational Schools Board (VA 703) and the National Schools Board (VA 919). They may have been accumulated for the information of the newly formed Board of Education (VA 713).In returns for the denominational school, schools are grouped under denominational headings and listed by name. On the lefthand side of the page details included may be under the headings of the Name of the School, Sex (girls, boys or mixed), On the Roll (boys, girls and total), Average Attendance, details of numbers able to pay fees and the rates of payment, the total of the actual Government aid for each child on the books and the average school fee for each child on the books, the numbers of School Days, holidays and Sundays, details of totals of full days attendance and the total amount of school fees.On the righthand side of the page of the Abstracts are given details of Government Aid under the headings of Teachers (name, period from and to and amount), Assistants (and later Trainees and House Rent Allowance).The returns for schools under the control of the National Schools Board have the school name and number, the name of the Corresponding Patron, the average attendance at the school, the amount of fees each year, the name and classification details of teachers and the amount of the annual allowance granted by the Board.This series was previously registered as Unit 3 of VPRS 1409 / P Statistics and Returns. There is no Unit 1 due to computer system problems.
