Gross primary production data was obtained from the GOSIF GPP dataset covering China from 2001 to 2023 at 0.05° spatial resolution and monthly temporal resolution, available at http://globalecology.unh.edu/data/gosif-gosif-gpp.html. Land cover data was derived from the MODIS MCD12C1 product at 0.05° spatial resolution (https://doi.org/10.5067/MODIS/MCD12C1.006), and the 2012 land cover data was used to represent average vegetation conditions. Monthly climate variables including precipitation, potential evapotranspiration, soil moisture and vapor pressure deficit were obtained from the TerraClimate dataset at an original spatial resolution of 1/24°, and all variables were resampled to 0.05° for spatial consistency.
