CHRISTOPHER MARLOWE AND HIS CONTRIBUTION TO ENGLISH LITERATURE

This study examines the literary contribution of Christopher Marlowe to the development of English Renaissance drama. Using a qualitative literary analysis approach, the research explores Marlowe’s major works, stylistic innovations, and thematic concerns. The findings reveal that Marlowe played a crucial role in shaping English tragedy through his development of blank verse, his creation of the overreaching tragic hero, and his expansion of dramatic themes. The study also highlights his influence on William Shakespeare and the broader tradition of English literature.
