This data set includes: 1.) µECoG data recorded from auditory cortex of anesthetized rats during presentation of pure tone pips. 4 recording sessions from 3 animals are included. Each recording session consisted of about 20 minutes of pure tone pips of varying amplitude and frequency delivered in a pseudorandom order. 2.) Simulated µECoG data from a cortical column modeled after rat cortex. The simulated column is stimulated with the same temporal structure as the tone pips used in the experimental recordings, enabling direct comparison of the simulated and experimental signals. The simulation dataset has two components: a. A series of simulations with increasing stimulation magnitude, which can be compared to the effect of increased amplitude in the experimental recordings b. A breakdown of one simulation by location of the signal’s generating sources (neuronal segments). The signal is broken down 1.) by anatomical layer of the generating source and 2.) by depth below the surface of the generating source.
