Volume of waste generated in France 2020, by sector

The construction sector is the largest producer of waste in France. In 2020, this sector generated some 212.7 million metric tons of waste. This was followed by households – but by a wide margin – with a waste production volume of 33.5 million metric tons. Total waste generation in France surpassed 300 million metric tons that year.
