Conflict Dynamics and Marital Resilience in Minangkabau
收藏资源简介:
This qualitative dataset consists of nine comprehensive narrative case studies detailing marital conflict, relationship dynamics, and resilience among informants in Padang, West Sumatra. It documents how couples navigate structural tensions, financial disputes, infidelity, gambling, domestic labor imbalances, and extended family interventions within the cultural context of Minangkabau society. The dataset captures two distinct male perspectives alongside seven female perspectives, exploring the intersections of shifting power dynamics, socioeconomic vulnerabilities, and traditional gender roles. The narratives illuminate the "push-and-pull" factors behind the decision to stay married, focusing on considerations for children, religious values, financial dependence, and the avoidance of social stigma associated with divorce.
