Supporting Dataset for Artificial Intelligence for Markerless Motion Analysis in Sports Biomechanics: A Systematic Review of Validation Studies, Current Challenges, and Future Directions

This dataset provides supporting materials for the systematic review entitled “Artificial Intelligence for Markerless Motion Analysis in Sports Biomechanics: A Systematic Review of Validation Studies, Current Challenges, and Future Directions.” The dataset contains the final evidence-extraction and methodological-assessment materials supporting the qualitative synthesis of 22 independent validation studies of AI-assisted or video-based markerless motion-analysis systems in sports and movement biomechanics. The systematic review was conducted in accordance with PRISMA 2020. The final evidence-identification process used PubMed, Scopus, and OpenAlex. Eligible studies involved human participants and quantitatively validated AI-assisted or video-based markerless motion-analysis systems against established reference standards. The dataset includes the final evidence table, risk-of-bias and applicability assessment, and supporting documentation. These materials are provided to support transparency and reproducibility of the systematic review. The dataset contains extracted and assessed evidence from published studies. It is not a raw participant-level dataset and does not contain newly collected human-subject data.
