This dataset is a contribution to the Geophysical Observations of Near-trench Deformation and Oceanographic References (GONDOR) project. The primary objective of GONDOR is to measure and characterize shallow submarine slow slip events (SSEs) offshore of the Hikurangi margin, off the east coast of New Zealand's North Island. This location serves as a primary site for developing oceanographic noise-removal techniques and acts as a critical region to investigate the relationship between near-trench seafloor deformation and tsunami hazards. To achieve this goal, a coordinated network of seafloor bottom pressure sensors was initially deployed in October 2022 during the R/V Tangaroa cruise TAN2212. This international experiment integrated instrumentation from several leading institutions, including the New Zealand Institute for Earth Science (formerly GNS Science), Germany's GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel, U.S. collaborators from the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory and the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography (URI GSO), as well as Japanese contributions from the Earthquake Research Institute at the University of Tokyo, Tohoku University, and Kyoto University. This specific dataset contains data retrieved via file telemetry from the undisturbed URI GSO CPIES (Current- and Pressure-recording Inverted Echo Sounder) instruments during the R/V Tangaroa cruise (TAN2410, spanning September 18, 2024, to September 27, 2024). It also includes other bottom pressure datasets from the network spanning the closest corresponding time windows. The overall temporal coverage of this combined dataset spans from September 14, 2023, to September 19, 2024. To maintain consistency across the integrated datasets, the following data processing steps were applied:Resampling and Filtering: Because the telemetered CPIES current and pressure data were daily averaged, all other concurrent bottom pressure datasets were daily averaged and processed using a 72-hour low-pass filter. Tidal Correction: All uploaded data have had daily and semi-daily tides removed by filtering. Pressure Drift Correction: Instrument drift has been dedrifted. Except for the instruments operating in A-0-A (ambient-zero-ambient) calibration mode, instrumental drift was calculated and removed using an exponential-and-linear drift curve.
