Human gut microbiomes from Papua New Guinea (PNG) highlanders believed to be adapted to a low-protein diet. feces were stored in RNAlater solution at room temperature and the bacterial DNA was isolated using the enzymatic lysis method using lysozyme and achromopeptidase. Metagenomic library was prepared by Ion Xpress Plus Fragment Library Kit and sequenced in the Ion PGM platform.
