Western Gulf of Corinth & Central Ionian Islands Seismic Hazard Dataset
收藏资源简介:
Description 1. Introduction The dataset compiles Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment (PSHA) results from Kaviris et al. (2022) and Kaviris et al. (2024). Both studies use the classical Cornell–McGuire approach (Cornell, 1988; McGuire, 1976). Kaviris et al. (2022) carry out a Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment (PSHA) for the Western Gulf of Corinth (WGoC). Results are presented in the form of Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA, cm/s²) and Peak Ground Velocity (PGV, cm/s) for 475 and 950-year return period. Moreover, the study presents PGA hazard curves (cm/s²) and Uniform Hazard Spectra (UHS, cm/s²) for the major towns Aigion, Patras, and Nafpaktos. In a subsequent study, Kaviris et al. (2024) adopt the same conceptual approach for the example of the Central Ionian Islands (CIIs), i.e. Cephalonia and Ithaca, and generate analogous output for the townships of Lixouri, Argostoli, and Vathi. 2. Files The dataset contains PGA, PGV, UHS and hazard curve data from both studies in easily parsable CSV formats. All files share a standardized long format: one row per node, intensity measure and hazard estimate, with self-describing hazard and metadata fields. Following, the common data structure and the summary of each file with its file-specific fields are presented. 2.1 Common data structure All CSV files contain the following fields: node_id: Node identifier (string). node_longitude_deg: Longitude in decimal degrees (WGS84) (float). node_latitude_deg: Latitude in decimal degrees (WGS84) (float). hazard_im_type: Intensity measure type (PGA, PGV or Sa) (string). hazard_statistic: Statistic of the hazard estimate (e.g. mean) (string). hazard_value: Value of the intensity measure (float). hazard_unit: Unit of hazard_value (e.g. cm/s**2) (string). meta_source_models: Seismic source models used (semicolon-separated) (string). meta_gmm_models: Ground motion models used (semicolon-separated) (string). meta_focal_mechanisms: Treatment of focal mechanisms (string). meta_site: Site conditions (string). meta_publication_doi: DOI of the associated publication (string). meta_dataset_doi: DOI of this dataset (string). 2.2 Western Gulf of Corinth 2.2.1 wgoc_intensity_measurement_levels.csv Contains gridded seismic hazard simulation output for WGoC. Estimated Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) and Peak Ground Velocity (PGV) for two return periods (475 and 950 years).
