An integrative analysis of human biofluid data in the exRNA Atlas revealed the existence of distinct extracellular RNA cargo types. To determine whether different RNA isolation kits biased detection of certain exRNA cargo types, an integrative analysis was performed using pooled plasma and serum samples, where 10 different RNA isolation kits were applied. Data from a total of 108 plasma and 74 serum samples (taken from pooled healthy controls) were analyzed for the study. 10 different RNA isolation kits were used throughout the study. Donors of analyzed samples varied in sex - 95 female, 87 male. RNA isolation experiments were done in triplicate for each lab. RNA-Seq raw data is to be made available through dbGaP (controlled access) due to patient privacy concerns.
