Natural geologic methane emissions are a significant and highly uncertain part of the atmospheric methane budget. The largest component of these emissions is from microseepage or the diffuse flux (No natural geologic methane emissions were observed in these measurements in the Michigan Basin. The positive fluxes of methane are highly likely to be from modern, biological sources. The code used to produce these calculated fluxes is available at https://github.com/KatieHall1919/Flux-Calculation/tree/main.
