资源简介:
Water sample was collected from Pangong Tso lake of Ladakh region, J&K, India. The water sample Metagenome of Pangong was extracted and studied for the analysis of microbial diversity. It is one of the largest brackish water lake of Himalayas situated at a height of about 4350 m. It is 134 km long and 5 km wide extends from India to China. Bacterial community and functional analysis of the water sample was assessed by Ion Torrent PGM sequencing. Metagenomic analysis revealed a diverse domain of microbial communities thriving in harsh conditions. About 27% portion of the sequences is unclassified indicating the possibilities for the presence of novel species in this water sample. Functional analysis of the sequence classified most of the data as being related to carbohydrate metabolism, aminoacid metabolism followed by the pathways of energy metabolism, nucleotide metabolism and lipid metabolism.
