Effects of differences in leaf chemistry on bacterial communities colonizing leaf litter in a freshwater stream

This study was designed to examine the effects of differences in leaf chemistry on the bacterial community colonizing leaves in freshwater streams. Leaves of red maple and water oak were incubated in a freshwater stream from 0 to 128 days and then analyzed for bacterial community composition.
